Guys I cannot tell you how much the Great Gatsby is like old time doomed yaoi. PLEASE HEAR ME OUT. The way Nick describes Gatsby is no way how a straight man would describe another straight man, “The truth was that Jay Gatsby, of West Egg, Long Island, sprang from his Platonic conception of himself. He was a son of God—a phrase which, if it means anything, means just that—and he must be about His Father's business, the service of a vast, vulgar, and meretricious beauty.“ LIKE WHHHHHAAAAATTTT. BRO JUST KISS ALREADY. Nick doesn’t just love Gatsby, hes IN LOVE with Gatsby. You can say “oh no he likes jordan!!!” BUT HE HATES JORDAN THE WAY HE DESCRIBES HER IS SO FOUL, TO CALL THAT LOVE??? Anyhow, NICK LITERALLY GOT FREAKY WITH ANOTHER MAN FOR GATSBY. In some books it’s cut out but Nick CANNONICALLY got freaky with Gatsby’s boss so Gatsby could sneak off with Daisy, WHAT STRAIGHT MAN WOULD DO THAT? I’ll tell you who WOULD do that, a closeted gay man that is in love with another man and will do ANYTHING to make that other man happy.
