These remind me so much of journals, it made me reminisce about da ;__; even though it probably wasnt the most appropriate website im glad i spent my childhood on there lol. All the drama felt lifechanging at the time but looking back its just so funny. Seeing people vague eachother next to journal memes about which eeveelution you were. unmatched. So much of my music taste is built off the songs people would embed in their core pages too, i really missed seeing that kind of personalization and creativity.
I feel bad for kids growing up online now, if you have any niche interests or dont have any friends, you cant even express yourself online because your classmates are all on tiktok as well. It sucks how the internet is condensed into the same four websites now, even deviantart is pretty dead after the eclipse update... obviously theres always been toxic people but everywhere feels so much more hostile now, i think because people who ordinarily wouldve been in their own corners are forced to share a space. at least theres places like this right?
