(Kyubeys delusions are Soul gems)

Created by the Fatui (Dottore) in an attempt to get closer to celestia, Kyubey was supposedly created with a small fragment of celestia, it has the ability to give out delusions (that are indistinguishable from real visions but if you looked closely you could spot the difference, for instance they become dull if used to much and are much more fragile).

Its rumoured that Kyubey can make a wish come true in exchange for a delusion, and fighting what it calls 'witches' a new species of monsters that only those with delusions/visions can see and fight.

The truth however is that because of Kyubeys imperfections, the delusions it gives out actually causes the holder to become these 'witches' if their delusion becomes too dull, which is why they have to fight the 'witches' in the first place to earn what Kyubey calls 'grief seeds' to help clear the dullness of their delusion, Kyubey also failed to mention if the delusion breaks the holder also dies.

(Dottore actually lost track on Kyubey and doesn't know what it's up to, he claims it now has a mind of its own and it's became some kind of alien, semi angel being, and celestia now has more control over it then he does, so he just let it go)
