Hello everyone! \(^0^)/
Got up early and left home for about 8am. Went to the local train station and boarded the train at 9 - to arrive in York for 10. York has to be one of my favourite places and I will most certainly find any excuse to go there. This time I visited with my mother as she hasn't been there in decades.
First stop was the park. Which is probably seen as an unusual place to start when visiting somewhere. However, you have to understand that the squirrels here are so friendly. I could spend all day just giving them food. Look how cute they are!

The park itself is also really pretty :3 ft. a very nice pigeon

Next up was York minster. It always puts me in a sense of awe. Although It does upset me that modern structures are never made like this anymore. I can completely understand why, but meh ._.
I had a nice chat with some of the workers there and they told me an interesting fact. In World War II they removed 109 of the stained glass windows and put them in a bomb shelter to protect them. Tough work as each window is comprised of lots and lots of tiny pieces. The five sisters window has 100,000 individual pieces of glass ( ˶°ㅁ°) !!

We stopped off at 'the hole in the wall' for some lunch. I got a curry and she got hunters chicken. There's so many pubs there its hard to choose which one to go to. We also visited 'The Guy Fawkes inn' later on in the day which is one of my favourite places. Unfortunately I got a curry again as they didn't have the other vegan options available. I'm used to it though, usually a curry is the only option in most places lmao ꉂꉂ(ᵔᗜᵔ*)
We finished off our day and went into our hotel. This is the 'Hocus Pocus Hotel'! It had spooky/witchy music as soon as you opened the door and it was decorated with a bunch of cobwebs and "haunted" paintings. We stayed in the libraryum which is an old library themed room. My mother ended up enjoying it the most - which is funny because she wanted to stay in this five star place. We've definitely not got that sort of class ahaha

I ended up staying in the small cupboard room. It was really comfortable and chill but I ended up having sleep paralysis for the first time since I was a kid. And I kept getting woken up by a little girls voice saying "hello?". The sleep paralysis was awful. I woke up unable to move, I heard the front door open, along with the same young girl and a man arguing. Then my bedroom door opened and this horrible face peeked in. I got out of it and decided I couldn't go back to sleep after that. God knows why that happened, but it was super freaky (·•᷄ࡇ•᷅ )
I went out for a nice fresh walk and came back with some breakfast. When we left we passed 'The Ghost Merchants' and for once it didn't have a hour (if not more) long que. It took us only about five minutes to get in and we got some of the small ghosts. I love them so much

We then got some coffee in 'The perky peacock'.

We ended up just visiting a bunch of shops and exploring other pubs. There was a pub down by the riverside that banned all electronics. So no peeking at your phone! It was nice, I guess it forced people to talk to each other which was a nice change of pace. My mam ended up being sick of eating a bunch of pub food. Which is all stodge here. So we ended up going to Wagamama lol

I'll end this blog here otherwise It'll go on forever. I hope you enjoyed my photos
