I was looking at the comments on the borderlands instagram on their post about borderlands 4,
Someone commented "i hope its not woke" or something like that. Like girl its borderlands its been woke, the clear satirization of capitalism, as well as you being able to choose your pronouns in tiny Tinas wonderlands. Not only that theres even a mission in assault on dragon keep that directly references and makes fun of games that over sexualize female characters armor. And sure you can argue Moxxi is a "sexualized character" but the whole game in some sense feels like it has the aspect GTA does where its a satirization of the culture that they portray. Also Borderlands is science fiction, which is an incredible outlet for social justice to begin with.
Its been "woke" and it will stay that way.
I love the franchise and i think that anyone complaining about it being woke doesnt understand the story or basic politics.

I think that's your first mistake. Instagram comments shouldn't be taken seriously. But i understand this sentiment
yeah thats fair, at the same time, a lot of peoples first complaint about media is how woke it is, as if it hasnt been to begin with
