entry 002

i have to rewrite this. clicked out of the tab and i am not very happy with that..... i don't really know how to word this but i think that art is too orderly to fully be able to express the artists true feelings. it's as if they're presenting with a facade - a mask disguising their true passions. art, much like people, can often hide true emotions behind a carefully crafted disguise. maybe the beauty lies in the struggle to decipher the hidden depths within. to me, its painstakingly obvious the depths an artist can go to to conceal a perhaps rotten desire underneath, using orderly, even strokes in their art. while i can appreciate the technique and precision in sculptures, paintings, etc, i can't deny that the chaos and unpredictability of raw emotions draws me in. it is within the hidden layers and contradictions that we often find the most profound truths. it's kind of an art in itself - disguising and concealing something ugly to present a beautiful lie, a lie aesthetically pleasing and nice to look at, so much so that it's hung up in galleries and started at by people trying to decipher the meaning. some people choose to be ignorant, believing these pretty lies due to pointless hope. art can be the difference between truth and illusion. it takes a keen eye to see beyond the surface and uncover the hidden narratives and desires beneath. i don't think we'll ever be able to really put ourselves in other's shoes, view life through their eyes despite how well you think you know a person. there's always things people put effort into hiding. that is just my opinion though.
