Dear Diary,

I had [have] a ninang [tl: godmother] or aka mommy. We love her, and she also loves us. She's single, loving, nice, merciful [lol?], helpful, and just like a mom to us. While our real mom is away working as an OFW [Overseas Filipino Worker], my ninang is the one being "our mom." Whatever we need, she gets it. Whatever she has and we don't, she shares. Duh?!!? Where can you find another person like this in the whole wide universe???! She is the only person. If there are others, for me, my mom is cooler, nicer, sweeter, and better.

I love you, Mommy!

Sincerely yours,
[redacted]

notes: ok jesus the past tense, she's still alive people. I call my godmother 'mommy' because she was very much like a mother to us growing up. We called our biological mother 'mama'.

old me really had a lot of respect for this version of my godmother. although some aspects still hold true, after learning the things that she had done to us behind the back really is crazy. one was told by mother, everything is alleged since i really do not have a concrete evidence but having lived with her for most of my grade school to my senior high school days i can for sure say that my real mom is not lying. the story goes like this, my brother and i went to a private university back in grade school and high school. tuition expenses are crazy, but we were living pretty comfortably thanks to my mother. since both of us were still young at that time, my godmother handled all the money sent by our mom (dad was mia). turns out what she would do with the money is that most of it would be paid to tuition, then she would buy us just enough grocery for a month and the rest would be spent on her lover.

my mother was very much shocked when she came home for a visit and wondered why we never had nice things when she never came short in money to assure we were living in luxury. godmother would pass it off as extra expenses from uni, saying books are expensive and the uniforms are expensive and and honestly any excuse under the sun. from that time my mother had already suspected her, and asked for receipts for every purchase of anything. iirc this pissed off my godmother, but my mother mentioned she never still received any receipts despite the constant reminders for it.
