Hair things

I really like how fringes look on people, Ive always said that if I had straight hair I would be scene or emo. I unfortunately have curly hair and dont really see lots of people with curly hair and fringes, or just curly haired scene/emo people in general. Is there anything I could do to achieve this look or anything I can do with my hair to look a little more alternative, I feel very naked some days 😓. Im also not #hating on my hair, I like it for the most part, and I definitely dont want to use any relaxers or anything. This is just a thought that ive been having for a while now.

Is there any scene people with curly hair out there? If yes what do u do to your hair 😓

(btw I dont dress alternatively right now, mostly because my parents dont really let me wear certain things, and wont let me dye my hair till my grades get up. I would like to though, maybe when im older.)

I have naturally wavy hair (which can be quite stubborn sometimes, unfortunately) and I just routinely flat iron and hot comb the shit out of my hair (yes, I use heat protectant spray before the tools touch my hair). Sometimes I'll also spray some anti humidity spray on my hair as well, brushing and baking some of it into my hair as well as using it as a finishing touch once I'm done.

Then, once the straightening is done, I'll usually tease it up with hairspray and a teasing brush (although sometimes I'll leave it down, especially if I plan on wearing a beanie or don't have time to tease it up before leaving the house or whatever).

Also, the reason why you don't see many emo/scene kids with waves and curls is because of how most of us pretty much do exactly what I do with my hair. Hell, even the ones with naturally straight hair will usually flat iron it a little bit just for that super pin straight look. Just look up old emo/scene hair tutorials on YouTube if you don't believe me.

Flat irons are a fact of life for those of us in these subcultures regardless of natural hair type. XD
