switch 2 + switch era

Recently I have been seeing a couple of videos talking about the switch 2 leaks or just general information about what we know. I also have been seeing people dog on the switch era. People can have their opinions about the switch especially if there are better consoles out there, I'm not denying that.

But I honestly lowkey loved the switch era. I got the console a few months after it released during Christmas and was super excited to play BOTW. It's crazy to think how that was almost a decade ago (7 years and going). But those videos I see people complain about the switch have me a bit confused? Like yes, it has a good amount of flaws, from stick drift to lower graphics(when compared to the PS4/5 or Xbox) It served it's time but that doesn't make the era full out bad.

It had a good couple of games on it. BOTW was a revolutionary game (imo) and has paved a new path for the Zelda series. It also had a few good early titles like Mario Odyssey and Splatoon 2. However, I will admit some other early titles like 1-2-Switch seemed a bit weird to me but in terms of party games could work since the console is advertised to be multiplayer. 

Other than those games, other Nintendo titles held strong in my eyes back then, Mario + Rabbids was a game my brother and I would play together (even though I kind of just watched him do those confusing battle puzzles) even smash bros ultimate was cool to play cause we were such huge fans of brawl. Now later switch games were also good too, even if some of the formula was being reused over and over.

TOTK was a later one I liked but since it was the same map as BOTW I got bored. There was nothing but the sky islands and the depths, and even then you could do it pretty quick. The story and dungeons were way easier than BOTW too. Another late title that I somewhat liked (not really anymore) was animal crossing new horizons. It was a cool game when you came from new leaf. The ability to design your island and even customize furniture/make furniture was ok? (customizing was already in new leaf tbh) The making furniture and tools part is what got me though. Crafting is cool but I don't want to use my net 10 times before it busts on me for no reason. I shouldn't have to go out of my way to either make a new on or buy a new one. There's a lot more I can complain about but I can make that in a separate post lol. 

The switch had some weird and repeat titles but some of the games were honestly good. I liked the switch era. It had it's time and that time was full of amazing games along with a few bumps in the road. (I'm not gonna mention pokemon cause I can make a whole seperate post about that too lol) I'm not too excited as younger me would be about the switch 2 since it basically looks like a repeat but with "better graphics". Until I see something revolutionary about the Switch 2 I'm just gonna sick to my old ass 2017 switch and my games.
