someone stabbed a kid and got arrested hows school going for yall?

Yeah so yesterday during advisory there was a lockdown alert that we thought was drill. Afterwards, there was an alert where they literally said that it's a drill to stay in the classes.

This pissed me off because i didnt want to miss the busses to the half day academy for a fuckin drill. 

anyway, my friend sits next to me on the bus and talks abt the lockdown "drill"

turns out two kids got into a fight and a boy brought a fuckin weapon???

we have metal detectors, but they dont check your bags if you go through the cafeteria entrance. There was also a rumor that he used a candy cane. a fuckin candy cane. what level of evil do you have to be to use a fuckin candy cane in a school fight.

anyway, the other kid got rlly hurt and there was a photo circulating of blood on the floor. and the kid got arrested thankfully (I hope the victim is doing well, not only cus they're hurt but also imagine being in a school fight and getting stabbed. by a fucking candy cane.)

I’m reaching out to you to dispel some rumors spreading in our community.

There was no physical altercation or fight that caused the earlier lockdown and hold. There was a verbal altercation. Two staff members intervened and prevented students from getting near one another. Because there was no physical altercation, there were no injuries as a result. Any photographs that may be circulating are not from (school name). They are part of a hoax meant to cause fear amongst our students, staff, families, and community.

The lockdown alert was an accident. All (district name) campus staff are equipped with badges that allow us to call for assistance when there are emergencies on campus. These badges are used when there are medical emergencies, behavioral incidents, or other types of concerns on campus. The staff member was calling to get additional adult assistance, but accidently put the campus into a lockdown. Once we had followed the appropriate lockdown protocols and secured students in safe places, we were made aware this alert was an accident. We then moved to a hold status for all students except those needing to go to (academy name).

(academy name) students were allowed to get their lunches and board buses and cars. Buses left about 5 – 10 minutes later than normal, but the day was not disrupted. Students were released to go their 7^th period class on time.

Our two (district name) police officers helped with the verbal altercation and their sergeant who is often on campus was present, but that is a normal occurrence for us. We did not have any additional police on campus today.

Any information other than this is inaccurate and we would appreciate our (school name) community sharing the truth regarding the situation. We are committed to transparency in our communications and I will always share as much information as permitted, as soon as possible.

This genuinely puts a really, really bad taste in my mouth. Years ago, my sibling was raped by a student, and they did jackshit. Im not surprised that they would try and cover up something like this so our parents wont pull us out of school.

the thing is, if it was verbal, why did only one kid get arrested? why is the other kid literally covered in cuts? and i find it hard to believe that they accidentally set off the lockdown drill.

I just had to get that off of my chest. if theres anything else i need to add, i will. feel free to ask questions but i cant guarantee an answer.
