I’ve always wondered why some people dislike neo-pronouns. They aren’t harming anyone, and they don’t affect the reader in any way. So why is there such strong opposition to people using neo-pronouns to refer to themselves? I don’t see a logical reason to dislike someone simply because they prefer not to use traditional pronouns. Why is it so difficult to respect someone’s choice in how they identify.

some people just see it as something that mocks trans people
trans people already struggle with being accepted by society, so when someone sees a person with cat/catself pronouns they just don't take them seriously
probably because it's something new?? neopronouns weren't a thing even like 3 years ago
this is probably the most logical explanation I've heard from anyone
