Prom party/dinner

I have a dilemma with this event, ok, it's like... a year away, but they need confirmation now

Here, the prom party is also a Dinner Elegant with parents 

The thing is...Apart from the dinner, and maybe the dress, I'm not excited about anything else about that event, I'll say 7 and a half hours of noise everywhere, The site is a closed awning...and there is an event at the end which is a carnival where there is noise everywhere

I have...a very stupid concern for me right now...2 of my 3 closest friends from school are going to that event, even the one I thought wouldn't, is going

I have this horribly stupid worry that if I don't go I'll miss something, or rumors will start about me, or no one will want to be my friend afterward

Or that they are going to forget about me for the rest of the year

....so that's an event almost at the end of the school year, see? You see what I think?

Anyway, if any of you have any ideas on how to help me with this indecision, I would really appreciate it.
