You ask me: "Are you a humanitarian?"
And I simply reply that I am, for my true answer would disgust those who do not see clearly.
You must understand, my view doesn't mean I value profit above all, quite the opposite.
See, when you speak of corporations destroying the world as we know it, you are correct. But a polluted planet does not stop spinning. We will burn out through our own misconduct, but we will not leave earth barren. Foliage will reclaim the ground stolen from them, burst out of cracked concrete and grow along abandoned skyscrapers. Species of bugs, bacteria, animals, fish, fungi, will evolve to digest the 'immortal' waste we leave behind. They will thrive in the corpse of our egocentric Nation, and they will sing in a frequency we cannot comprehend.
I am not a humanitarian, no, I am not. I say we let the virus multiply until it can't. Let the parasite suck it's host dry of what it needs. Let it realize too late one must nurture the hand that feeds. Let it wither away to dust, writhe in its self importance, for in the end, it is wrong.
It is not the end of the world humans see on the horizon. It is not the end of the world they are afraid of. It is the end of themselves. The globe will keep spinning, forever changed yet ever surviving, and they will be absorbed for nutrients, and bugs, bacteria, animals, fish, fungi, will consume those nutrients, and they will thrive. That is a future I cannot be despaired by, for it is the very thing you pretend to wish for.
