a minimalist internet (why....?)

The internet has become colorless since the era of "minimalism", I liked it when everything was colorful and exaggerated. It was like the internet was a paradise, but nowadays that doesn't mean anything anymore. I miss how websites and apps used to be, I would prefer something prettier than something plain. Changing the security system is fine, but why change the aesthetics of things? That's not fair.
