celeb boundaries are important
ever since chappell roan spoke out and since ive read jennette mccurdys book i can understand how they feel and it makes a lot of sense.
it must be tiring being constantly reminded of one thing youre known for. like they're more than what they're famous for, they have lives, and they have boundaries, and theyre real people.
like in her book jennette mccurdy expresses how she hates being addressed as sam. like 1, cus of her trauma obv, but 2, like- she isn't just "sam from icarly" all the time. nowadays i grimace each time i see a picture of an actor just being themselves and comments saying like "omg its character" like... no... thats the actor.
like for example itll be a picture of iain armitage and comments are like "omg its sheldon why is he doing that" like- no... its iain and he can do that becuse hes iain and not sheldon. yk?
and ive been trying to limit the amount of batshit delusional things i say online because it can be creepy sometimes. like usernames like... uhh idk gimmie an example....uhh.... "benoftheweeks girl" like what would ben think if he saw that? what would you think if you knew he knew youre calling yourself a celeb's gf? i know that benoftheweek and faline shire have made videos where they chat with c.ai bots other people made of them and they were both rightfully weirded out. like these freaky representations of themselves that fans make.
and im not saying im perfect myself, im lokey a hipocrite. like i like to think abt what i would say if i ever met a celeb. BUT i plan it out not so i would be like "OMG FREDDIE ICARLY I LOVE YOU SIGN MY FACE ARE YOU GOING TO YOUR MOTHERS HOUSE FOR A CHEMICAL TREATMENT" it would be like "oh shit, nathan kress? i loved u as freddie in icarly and you did a good job directing those episodes too! if its not too much trouble can i snap a pic w u?"
and obviously it kind of IS the "consequence" of being famous and i cant influence the whole world to change their behaviour with the click of a button. but it IS possible to at least, for the sake of chappell roan, to tone down AT LEAST irl encounters and respect the PEOPLE.
like remember, some people never really wanted that life style, some people may want that life style, some people stumbled upon it, some people jst want to be treated normally, etc. there are infinite ways a celeb can feel about being famous so the best that we can do as fans who may or may not know, if just simple respect.
anyway, just something to think about! please dont be mad at me :>
