my beaten up heart

wishing for better

loving throughout so much worse

heart beating to be

-

wanting more out of

life, trying to understand

what that means to me

-

wanting to feel the

wind in my hair, a hold on

my soul, inspiring

-

the capture of a

century, the glorious

lifeline i have felt

-

overtaking me

my bones won't stop shaking, my

ribs bruised all black blue

-

heart beating anxiously

hands clenched with furious

abandon, hurting

for so long, the aches

burn as my heart quakes, crying

out in so many names

-

everytime i think

i can't take any more upset,

more comes for my way

-

the wind calls upon

my weary heart, broken beyond

the realm of understand

-

the rain tries to soothe

with mud running into my

shoes, bruised knees and all

-

just waiting for the

fall where we will lose it all

i hope that's not it

-

i hope genuine

never quits, never stays down while

we sit, waiting for

-

better, wishing for

more, wanting to know what will

be behind that door

Thought provoking and poignant lines very well written. Two 'Pearls' stood out for me: every time i think
I can't take any more upset
more comes for my way - I felt that; been going through it... like the Universe is constantly challenging us. You think what next? and there it is, another hurdle to get over...
Also your line: the capture of a Century, the glorious lifeline
I have felt. It conjures up a lot in the imagination...
I enjoyed it. Kudos! :)
