Hi yall, I know I've been super inactive here, but I'm gonna try and make up for it, see if Spacehey is the nice and friendly place it's known to be.
As the title says, yes, I did left the Fediverse (alternative for mainstream social media) and the site I was at was Outer Heaven, which used to be on my profile website thingy.
I left for many things, one of which is really the inescapable politics, the aggression and overpreaching tech nerds that it wasn't too user-friendly to those people like me who initially joined for fun and escapism from the horrible real world. I was constantly being fed bad news and politics and doomer culture about how trash capitalism is and companies 24/7 that it was legitimately taking a toll on my mental health, I was freaking out and was getting headaches and anxiety every now and then.
People like to preach that place as a utopia and escape from places like X or Instagram or Facebook, and yet it ends up being practically the same thing, just with slightly more perks like no algorithms or whatnot... But people still act somewhat the same and can get so aggressive it's frightening, especially when it comes to sensitive topics like religion or tech and politics. Especially tech. You'd be doomed if you use windows 10 there. (i was one of those minority freaks that still used windows instead of linux)
And yet, I couldn't leave because my friends were there. But I'm glad I did, and thankfully, some friends have given me their emails so we wouldn't lose touch.
Basically, I just hope I'll be safer here and I could enjoy the coolness of community and y2k culture and inclusivity with less of the negativity and spite.
Again, I'm sorry I haven't been inactive here and I hope to make friends. And if any one of you has some recommendations of y2k-styled sites, like forums or chatting sites, or like basically any safe, not-so-mainstream site or whatever, let me know, I'd appreciate it so much <3

Sweet Doll
I left some platforms too like Insta, TikTok, Snap, and X. The only platform I would go on was Youtube for a while. My mental health was at a really low point and I didn't want to associate with much because of that. Media can be a good thing for a lot of people, but why is it that when I still meet people they think it's the worst thing in the world that Im not apart of it? Seriously. 'You don't have insta where are you girl??' like idk frolicking in the field of what we call life while I indulge on my sweet treats every other day idk.

LOLLL they make it as if it's the end of the world TT
and fr, I mean, sadly it's starting to show its effects even on here too... I'm happy for the ones who gained mutuals here on Spacehey but so far it's not working for me even if I've spent a while here. Interactions never seem to go any deeper than liking profiles lately and a few comments, then it's back to doing nothing. honestly now I'm preferring my real life brainrot with my videogames now than desperately trying to reach out and make friends with a brick wall
