I'm editing a premade layout, how do you add a overlay and dividers to your profile?

I want to someday make my own layout and fidget with code!! But the tutorials are really big and confusing :,( So how would you add a faint overlay on your screen and divide your sections with an image/gif? Tysm!!

You can add dividers to ur profile with img src="" and just put the url to ur pic between the quotations!!
If you wanted to put space between the divider and your text use br/
