REVIEW: The Race of a Thousand Camels by Bôa

Today I listened to Bôa’s 1998 LP “The Race of a Thousand Camels” Bôa is a band from London best known for their song “Duvet” which was the main opening for the anime “serial experiments Lain” and sadly they’re not really known for much else, because I find the band extremely underrated. All the songs in this album are incredible. They all have this dreamy production and unique style that really reminds me of an anime from the late 90s to the early to mid 2000s and the incredible and lush arrangements that really flesh out the songs, Jasmine Rodgers vocals can go from softly crooning to hard hitting screams in the same songs and Alex Caird makes basslines that effortlessly compliments each song. if you wanna listen to this album on streaming services, you will only find the 2001 reissue “twilight” which you won’t have to worry because it’s the same song with three extra tracks. In conclusion, I believe this album is one of the best alternative rock albums of the 90s and should be talked in the same conversations as other alternative rock groups of that time like Radiohead and Neutral Milk Hotel

Fav tracks: Duvet, Twilight, Fool, Elephant, Deeply, and One Day.

Score: 9/10
