not that many bands listed here, just a few
HARDCORE PUNK
Wreckage - quintet from Connecticut that I discovered via my 9th grade English teacher, who's actually a guitarist of the band! they currently have 3,188 monthly listeners on spotify. I recommend you start with their album "Our Time".
Cutters - quartet from Melbourne, Australia that I discovered via some guy I met at a show. currently have a little over 10k monthly listeners on spotify. I couldn't really find anything about them online.. I would recommend starting with their album "Australian War Crimes".
Broken Demeanor - quintet from Chicago, Illinois that I quite literally cannot find any articles about. Found these guys from a recommendation on Noplace. currently have 522 monthly listeners. I recommend starting with their EP "Where Is Home?"
POP/SKATE PUNK
Scooped Up! - power trio from Milford, CT that I discovered via a guitar teacher at guitar center! Definitely my favorite local band, these guys are super sick. they currently have 2.517 monthly listeners. If you're a fan of early blink-182 and overall 90's-2000's fat wreck skate punk, listen to these guys. I recommend starting with their album "The Runs".
Cheerleader Roadkill - power trio from Chicago Illinois that I discovered via spotify recommendations, but you may know the guitarist/vocalist noel kovac, AKA goobsmooch. Cheerleader Roadkill, despite being a relatively newer band, have 44.2k monthly listeners on Spotify, which could be thanks to goobsmooch's popularity, the fact that they're pretty damn good, or both. I would recommend starting with their EP "Cowboy divorce birthday party," which is actually really short, only 4 minutes long.
Making Friends - quartet from Brighton, UK that I discovered via Spotify recommendations. they write "unfashionably fast melodic punk rock; it's probably most suitable for those with a short attention span." (quoted from their spotify bio.) they currently have 885 monthly listeners on Spotify. I would recommend starting with their album "Fine Dying".
New Aesthetic - quartet from San Diego, California that I discovered via a YouTube recommendation for one of their music videos. They currently have 8,998 monthly listeners on spotify. I recommend starting with their single, Spork.
I hope you give these bands a shot, and I highly encourage you to look into them more on your own time! Definitely check out Scooped Up's music videos, they're a lot of fun to watch. anyways, thanks for reading!
