TEC16, ep7: SKILLS (pt2 - art)

the thing with art, i think, is perspective (haha pun intended)

when i feel out of my depth, or like my art isnt going where i want it to i can do either or both of 2 things:

1. scroll through pinterest, compulsively pinning ppls gorgeous art and dreaming that someday ill get on their level or,

2. take out and flip through an old sketchbook, seeing how much ive improved (seriously today i found one from 2020(?) and WOW what a difference) and feeling a bit better ab myself

what gets me most ab my art skills is i feel held back by my abilities. theres so much fanart i wanna do like i have the IDEAS, plenty of em

but my execution fumbles.

and hey, all i can really do rn is to KEEP. DRAWING. good or bad or ugly or kitch or cheesy or dumb, i doesnt matter, all i have to do is to keep practicing.

also i like doing other kinds of art too like making bracelets, knitting (VERY occasionally), constructing masks or miniatures and stuff like that 

and the hardest thing for me w them is just STARTING. starting a new project is kinda daunting, and if i do eventually start one, theres more than enough chance that itll lay abandoned for like 3 weeks

during weekdays im always waiting for the weekend to come round so that i can continue my projects and then the weekend arrives and its just like 'oh no i have school stuff to do i cant waste my time' :///

but yeah, art is a complicated journey and my relationship w it is still developing :)
