don't know how many of these i'll do but i love sharing stuff and wanted to share this with whomever sees it. i am not a critic so my thoughts are just my feelings as i listen.
new blue sun - andre 3000
this album feels like listening to a bunch of different creatures in an ecosystem doing their own thing and making their own sounds that come together to create a living piece of music.
---
seems i'll be adding to this after all.
girls in the grass - steve hiett
i cant get enough of this album. it sounds like laying on a towel pressed into the white sand of a still beach on a clear day, baking in the midday sun with your eyes covered.
---
everybody loves you - kaki king
this one is very tender, and has great variety. it's also quite youthful, and i can get lots of emotions out of it.
---
endless - frank ocean (vinyl remaster)
man do i adore this album. it flows seamlessly and it's so unique. the run from slide on me to florida is mythical. it's like thoughts bouncing around in your head coming and going. i love just laying down in a dark room and listening to this in one go every now and then with my eyes closed.
---
channel orange - frank ocean
This one is just awesome, so many cool songs. pyramids is an amazing story, love the dual narrative tied together by the pyramids.
---
look, it's a frank ocean day.
blonde - frank ocean
"less morose and more present, dwell on my gifts for a second."
---
purple rain - prince
this album is insane holy shit, literal perfection. this gets me so hype, makes me wanna throw myself around like a hyper-caffeinated freak. prince is the goat for this. PARENTAL ADVISORY EXPLICIT CONTENT
---
radiohead - a moon shaped pool
this sounds a lot like how the cover looks sometimes, especially daydreaming. i love the organic sound that prevails in this album, the strings in the first and second tracks. the fourth track makes my insides warm, like a good tea in winter. the whole thing is kind of bathed in a subtle overtone of melancholy, it's quiet and gentle in a way. and every song is so unique, probably one of my comfort albums.
---
death, existing & other joys of life - black math
boy, does this help with math homework. i love the closing track, really feels like an exhale and a massage to my ears to calm down after throwing myself around the room for 45 mins.
---
older - george michael
i am absolutely obsessed with this album right now. this has been on repeat for hours every day for the last couple weeks. it's just so captivating and every time i listen to it i get hungrier for more of it. the blend between the synthetic, futuristic elements and the jazziness just has me hooked. also why is he lookin at me like that.
