britpop is so cool

basically britpop was invented bcs damon albarn (blur lead singer) went on tour to america, and hated how big grunge was and nirvana, he got rlly homesick for the uk and switched to making really british music. so it never rlly got big in the us

ironically, the only blur song popular in the us is called song 2. song 2 was originally wrote to mock nirvana and smells like teen spirit, the song has repetitive riff and nonsensical lyrics, but its actually the only blur song that did well in the us lol.

oasis are blur's competitor- this is bcs of this event called ''the battle of britpop'' which i will talk about in another post lol
