constellations 

i sneak a look at your face for just a moment too long,

and the constellations of who i used to know link,

to create a person i’ve looked with love a million times,

you are still the same body same eyes,

you still get that subtle look in your eye when you smile,

yet you are disjointed to who i once knew,

the girl i loved is hidden,

buried beneath time or distance,

or maybe just my memory of her,

but in that moment when i linger too long i still know you,

i can recognise you and there’s no longer that yearn,

because i have felt it before and now again.
