Using the Triangulation Method to Find a Stronghold in Minecraft

As most people know, there are two different ways to find a stronghold in Minecraft. The first is by simply throwing eyes of ender and following them until they point down towards the Stronghold. The second, although a bit more complicated, is faster and uses less eyes of ender. In the end, it is also much more accurate. This is called the Triangulation method.

First, it is suggested to throw your eyes in an open space. This is important since you will need full view of the eye as it flies upward.

Once the eye has reached its maximum height, look directly at the eye so your crosshair is positioned as close to the center of the eye as possible. Then, without moving, open F3 and look at the direction you are facing, and note the numbers to the far right. For example, it should look something like this:

Facing: west (towards negative X) (93.1/-270)

The first of those numbers is your vertical (up and down) angle. This is the one you should take note of. Make sure to write down the exact number for best results. Also take note of your X and Z coordinates.

After that, turn 90 degrees from your current position. This can be done by looking at that second number, and turning yourself 90 degrees from it in either direction. from there, go 16 blocks in your new direction, or 4 sprint jumps. once that is complete, throw a new eye and repeat the process, measuring the angle, and writing down your X and Z coordinates.

If you don't want to do the math in your head, use this calculator:

Put your coordinates and yaw (the angles you measured) into the correct slots and it will automatically give you the coordinates!

Well there you have it. I hope this helps!
