Is blood all that matters? Or is it just that you are full of evil?

Growing up, I have always lived away from my mother and father. No, I wasnt abandoned. I was just left in the care of my mothers sisters. Abusive and mentally manipulative sisters. They favor their kids. Would I be the same as them? Or would I be better if I got one of their or another persons soul of their soul in my care?
