I'm assigning music to my fav characters and yapping about it bc I can, count this as a music recommendation if you'd like lololol.
by the way, this is not a “i think they would listen to this” but more of a “the rythm/lyrics fits their lore/life/thinking/my interpretation of them" I also got some headcanons.

The whole song was chosen for the lyrics, while I don't think Dazai would hear something like this (at least not constanly) the little conversation between the 'devil' and the 'alcoholic' can very well fit Dazai's thoughts during the death of Oda and his arrival to the ADA.
"Don't get me venting on friends who resent you [...] They thought was a necklace, and reckless, they fell into hell." It's 22!dazai telling his younger self that the guilt of Odasaku's death will continue to weight even if he grows older and simply learns to live with it.
The chorus lines I personally use to refer to the four years that Dazai disappeared into thin air after leaving the port mafia and the interval between him taking his entrance exam, these periods of times are when Dazai's suicidal idealization are the worst since he's moving "away" (not on, away) from Odasaku's memory (and to an extent Ango's too, but since Ango is alive Dazai turns his guilt into resentment towards Ango).

Remember, the Devil ain't a friend to no one" This is where I like to think it breaks from the constant of 22!Dazai to PM!Dazai breaks, the italized parts of the lyric are Dazai's impostor syndrome (for lack of better word) or PM!Dazai telling him that no matter how much he moves away from the memories he'd always be the Devil (The demon progidy)
"Anyway, you say you're too busy saving everybody else to save yourself and you don't want no help, oh well" this part is now totally PM!Dazai speaking to 22!dazai; They aren't better, have never been better but they live by now.

I will try to cut myself from yapping too much this time, the reason for why a lot of the time I absolutely adore Bestzai is for one simply reason, he's obsessive, while has Dazai has been properly socialized by both Ango and Oda (yes, like a cat) beastzai, while he got those memories he didn't got the experience!! so him latching into the first glimpses of "normalcy" was actually very normal, I was talking to my very own Oda and told them the next "I know that the whole thing about beastzai is wanting to protect Odasaku [...]" but now thinking about it wasn't quite right.
"Everyone who sees you falls in love, you eat us up, you live like you're on camera [...]" while the lyrics are mostly romantic i don't fuck with odazai, so my interpretantion it's completly platonic, but Oda was everything to beastzai, the cling of need to be loved it's what makes his character so interesting.

This are not Oda thoughts or lore just how I view him, this man is the biggest butterfly effect ever if we ignore Mori, every little thing he did it was a domino effect for the rest of the characters, seeing him young with Ranpo and Fukuzawa was everything, "Look at it dance over the sky like a rocket, a teacher, a simulated dream, a cure, a cure for the hurt and the pleasure you feel is real" this lyrics it was like reading a description of Oda from Dazai.
Now we that said, half french Oda canon, I love it.

I love him so much, he is so stranged father with his teenage son Dazai, idc idc, he loves Dazai so much and one can argue it's just about the guilt of letting Oda unconcious giving Mori time to leak the orphans adress and well... giggles
But I also think Ango genuinely loves Dazai like a son, maybe i'm projecting too much on Ango my love but I belive the sees Dazai as something a little bit familial, if not as a son maybe as a little brother, please think on how much Dazai looks like a tiny little wet cat during the dark era?!?!?!? and NOT love him???

OH MY GODDDDDD, ango would do anything and everything to make it up to Dazai, going as far as erasing his crime as a mafia executive?? 1075 crimes (wihtout counting the DUI and other spare crimes only mentioned) are NOT easy to erase, no matter how connected is inside of the goverment, plus that one scene where he's holding Dazai's picture and it's smiling gently and looks so sad??? and then the "I offer my humble atonement to my friend who is no longer with us" I'm clawing my eyes out he loved the lupin trio so much...

I will say... I'm very biased with this song because I got a fanfic with this exact song but it's because it fits him soo well "How much can you fit under your skin? How much can you fit under your skin? I wish you were dead babe I wish you were dead, I can fit two, I can fit two..." we're back to analyzing lyrics yay! the first lyrics in bold are the higher ups asking them to Yuuji (or satoru depending on how I feel about disectitng the higher ups that day), I think the italics are easy to deduce, being sukuna(ss) and finally Yuuji answering to the first question

Again, bold being Yuuji talking to Sukuna, I feel like this is in the beginning of their ???? hosting???? and Sukuna responds in Italics, I love the interpretations where slowly Yuuji adopts Sukuna's mannerism hence why he finishes the phrase.
At the end of the song there's parts that has multiple voices talking over eachoter and I like to think is Yuuji bearing with the guilt of wanting to do what's right and the exitence of the atrocities that Sukuna has done with his body.

This was from my teen years and the times I was really into covers and signing, but good god I think this song fits Satoru so godamn well "I haven't been myself lately, I don't blame you for not wanting to stay" this is literally Satoru, if I remember correctly he wasn't mad for Suguru leavin the school but the actions he took when he did (i'm refering to adult satoru, 18!sato was mad because he was being left behind)
"What am I supposed to say, when I end up driving everyone away?" I've never seen such a lonely man, he holds most people at arms length, or when he doesn't (read Nanami, honorable mention, one of Three Dog Night) he ends up being pushed away
"What's done is done and nothing's gonna change, I should be moving on but I still feel the same"This man never moved on from Suguru, never had never did, call it his frist love but I think there's a little more than that, he had been Satoru's other half, they are quite literally eachothers other half, not only are their concepts matching (creation/nurturing-destruction) but their color palletes too, Gege has said Suguru was made with Satoru in mind, even their veils are matching.
"Every inch of me is charred. God, what happened to my heart? I'm about to fall apart. Again, again" Suguru being the last thought on Satoru's mind fits this part soooo good, i'm sorry I just love sugusato, they're everything to me.

Ciel would absolutely listen to this kind of music. It’s not just the fact that it's historically accurate (but that too LOL) but the way it captures emotion that fits so well with his character. I’m not great at reading music sheets, but Danse Macabre has such an amazing tempo, and the way the notes keep climbing higher and higher is perfect for showing how his life spirals out of control. They way he struggles to just lieve and how the people around him don't help or can't (bard WILL try to kill Sebastian for Ciel don't even try to tell me otherwise), no matter how much he tries to get a handle on them. It’s a great metaphor for everything he’s going through.

Soooo again, this is my personal, head canonized fluff interpretation but I think that Sebastian's care began to bloom during the first days as a butler, in a way which you would find a baby cow cute (bc he still saw Ciel as his goddamn dinner), right? but because Sebastian is... well a demon I think his care can become very soffocating, it's even worse whe he DOES realize he's beginning to care about Ciel "when my walls start burnning down" demonic little bitch learns to be vulnerable (hates the experience)
"There's still cobwebs in the corners and the backyard's full of bones, won't you stay with me, my darling When this house don't feel like home?" I have thoughts in this line, the first part i have two interpretations for, one Sebastian is talking about his own "heart" (whatever demons have) or two, he's literally refering to the manor, "when this house don't feel like home"
"The devil's after both of us; Ooh, lay my curses out to rest, make a mercy out of me" The bold I take as Sebastian's own inhuman nature, yes, he might care for Ciel now, but the contract is already signed, there's little he can do about it now, the un edited part can be read as Ciel asking Sebastian to fulfill his end of the bargain, to take his soul.
I doubt Ciel can manage to completly attach himself to Sebastian, he'll always have the nagging doubt of if he's doing it only for the contract's well being!! I'm not saying Ciel doesn't care I'm saying he's unstrusting about it, finally the italized para in Sebastian answering to his intructions/order depending on how angsty I feel. He doesn't want to, he raised that boy, blood sweat and tears (not his own of course), but what better end would have Ciel than at his own hand?

I can tell you put effort and creativity into each one of these, and the way you talked about the characters showed how much thought you’ve put into them!!
It was a really interesting read and I think I might do one of these with my favs now!!
