Spotify Wrapped, AI, greed, and physical media

This years’ Spotify wrapped should convince you to either use a different streaming service or move to physical media. This might seem stupid, but I’m sure many of you can agree that streaming services are getting out of hand when it comes to greed and AI.

It is so clear how much AI was used in this years wrapped, the lack of an actual music/data breakdown, and the inaccuracy of multiple things — it sucks :p I love Spotify dgmw, but the AI (w/ DJ, wrapped, playlisting) and shitty updates is ruining the platform and I’m sure many of you can agree w/ me. This is becoming an increasing problem in streaming services, and even just online in general…Google & TikTok’s AI summary feature is genuinely awful, the majority of the time it’s incorrect in it’s information.

Physical media is great, the art of inconvenience and the love of simple things like collecting & pressing buttons…it’s also cheaper in the long run, ESPECIALLY if you’re buying secondhand like I do. CDs, cassettes, vhs, vinyl, DVD…it’s all pretty cheap nowadays, and there’s no AI! I feel as though this can be applied for many streaming services, such as Netflix, Disney+, etc. Everything is getting more expensive and becoming less quality, it sucks. Netflix has ads now, Youtube’s ads have become longer and many of the longer ones are unskipable. Disney threw a fit when getting sued by someone because they’d subscribed to Disney+, like WTF?? 

TLDR; Physical media, piracy, and some ‘safer’ sketchy streaming sites can prevent the majority, if not ALL, of these issues. Spotify + other content streaming services suck, change the way you listen to music and watch content!
