The idea of downloading a dating app and swiping left and right to find a person you'd remotely have similar interests with has never been appealing to me. In this era, technology has become such a big part of our lives that nothing feels genuine anymore and everything is super fast paced and with that, romance has entered the world of applications and a 1 swipe feature. Believe me, i mean out of all the stories you hear about people actually finding love and getting married because they were using that dating app, is not zero but it is RARE.
What i mean to say is,... can we not include romance in technology.. in all HONESTY, people are using dating apps to find their next one night stand. You could be using that app to genuinely find someone and swiping right to end up with a text message like "DTF?"
That must be really unsettling.
I know out there people are really finding their person but using a dating app doesn't really increase your chances. Think about it. With all the advanced technology we kids now have today but still can't find a single fucking person to be with by relying on an app but our grandparents can find someone and get married and live their lives together for the next 60 years and that is without technology.
The problem is not the dating apps. Is the fact that you need to depend on an app to find your soulmate. Why don't we put ourselves out there in the world and meet people instead of sitting at home finding love. Romance shouldn't be that dead!!!! I don't want to swipe right on a person to be interested in them. It's sort of dehumanizing. Imagine you getting swiped left knowing you are your best person that you can ever meet but the significant meaning of the left swipe is mostly about aesthetics and looks. A mf could be the most good looking person in the room but have the most boring personality! and you'd never know unless you sit down and have a conversation with them.
Romance should be more than swiping left and right.
If technology gets more advanced than today,...would romance be totally non existent?
