Quantum Entanglement

i.

A professor from somewhere in the future found himself in the loop of telling familiar new faces about the wonders of quantum theories. Familiar, because even though these were a set of fresh facial features, he would know how those faces moved—muscle by muscle, skin by skin—as observed in his twenty years of teaching. He would know whether they were in awe or in woe.

"According to quantum entanglement, when two particles are entangled, their states are connected, no matter how far apart they are..." He would look at the back of the classroom as if his speech were inscribed on the walls. "Much like twin telepathy, or what scientists refer to as mirroring or modeling—a phenomenon where twins experience or at least know what the other is going through, thinking, feeling or even the next move that they will make as if reading each other's minds. Although there is no scientific evidence to back it up, twins from almost every corner of the world speak of this kind of feeling, even when their other twin is worlds apart."

In between his words, the wind passed through as if signaling a history left at the window of the classroom. And there, he would stare at the open window, lost in the vagueness of his inquisition, longing for a life where you would never be worlds apart.
