Mini comic

I didn't get to properly draw for a week or two because i had a lot of tests... But now my schedule is lighter, so i'm back on my bullshit :

Check out the intro post if you don't know who these characters are

I made this to explore the relationship between Cain & Darwin a bit, and show what they think of eachother.
I think they're very much opposites in a lot of ways - you'd think Cain, the helpful and amicable guy, would be the one to wear his heart on his sleeve, yet he often feels borderline horrified of upsetting anybody because of something he's done. A lot of his time is spent trying to appease people, even though that might not be warranted.
Darwin, on the other hand, is someone who doesn't quite have a filter when it comes to telling people off. He knows his boundaries, and what he should be expecting of others, but he has a tendency to phrase it a little rudely, wether accidentally or not.

Due to their clashing personalities, Cain attempts to "clean up the mess" that Darwin makes in conversation, but doesn't know when to stop when it comes to reassuring the other party. He ends up apologizing for things which needed no apology, like in this comic : Darwin tells Misato off for trying to speak to them while he wasn't done talking to Cain, but his choice of words comes off a bit rude. Misato does understand and tries to apologize, but Cain immediately cuts her off and apologizes for the whole ordeal, even though Darwin was still justified in telling her to back off a little - he should've just been a little less rude.

Despite this, Cain is very envious of Darwin's confidence. He resents him a bit, because he's doing everything Cain has ever wished to do... He wishes he could defend himself as easily as it, and stop trying to please everyone at the cost of his own sanity.
Yet, he also finds this to be an attractive quality. No matter how much he tries to affirm he's just jealous of Darwin, it's quite obvious he's got a big crush on it. He's torn in this weird limbo of combined bitterness and attraction for Darwin, but hey, it's not like he was going to confess his love either way.

Darwin finds Cain to be an interesting fellow. He can easily notice the air of insecurity around him, but it's not too angry about his antics. On the contrary, it wishes it could cut Cain up, see what's going on inside, and maybe rewire him a bit so that he could finally function properly...

(For context on the locker room scene - it's metaphorical, Cain and Darwin didn't grow up together. And they're in the girls locker room cause they're both trans.)

Anyway, that's all for me today. Have a nice week :D
