On Christmas

I've always hated how shops will often put seasonal related stuff out earlier than its supposed to be, December 1st to me is the perfect time to do so, but certainly not anywhere near early November. At this rate we'll have Valentine's and Mardi Gras in January. I've always hated keeping track of time actually, i'd rather not know how old i'm getting, when my birthday is or even what year it is. I'd like to not have the Calendar Man come up to me and say its National Bean Day (wasn't he more of a Legumes guy?)

As for Christmas, it's okay i guess. Seeing family is nice but its not as nice as seeing them on your birthday or something. I never get invited to anything unless its those two things or someone else's birthday.

Christmas songs though, now you're talkin'. Wham's Last Christmas is probably my favourite, only because you can swap out lyrics for your own. Everyone knows how much that one by Mariah Carey is hated and i agree, especially in sympathy of all the retail workers out there, it must be hell to work right now. Have you got any good Christmas songs, dear reader?

Its nice to spread some joy and whimsy this time of year, personally i'm more of a Halloween guy but December of yesteryear had me coming around to Christmas a bit more. Walking around town at a cold, dark and wintery 4-5pm and seeing the lights while listening Diskette Park's "Ancients" off of his brilliant album, Community is a nicer experience than i had anticipated.

On that same night, i had run into one of my old schoolmates. He didn't recognize me at first, but eventually figured it was me. We had a nice talk like what jobs both of us were in, i forget what he said he does, but he asked me and i couldn't come up with anything, so i just said i was an artist. (cause its technically true even if you haven't made anything in months, right?)

I'll probably never see him again for a long while, but i hope to this month around the same time cause that'd be a nice coincidence. Anyways, i hope life has been treating you well this year as it hasn't very much for me, the nicer highlights of the year such as being in SMC or dropping £70 on books with pictures of old vidya games in them has kept me around, I'd like to keep going. That'd be the life.

The early holidays products are likely to increase the numbers on holiday product sales and being the first to make sales on Christmas products. I agree it's bs, but I don't complain when it includes seasonal exclusive flavors and experiences.

that's true, seasonal exclusive things coming back every year is always something to look forward to, i just wish it happened on time properly instead of a month or two early

I miss being excited for Christmas. I feel like my family has given up on trying to get to know me which has lead to only getting cash and some nice clothing. (no disrespect for the clothing though) Sure the presence of family is nice, but there hasn't been anything that really connects me with them anymore. There has been very little ways to share my side of the world while everyone else does fine sharing theirs with everyone. Same with thanksgiving. I still remember my last time sitting at the large table and being thankful, but that just doesn't happen the last couple years. All I get is a full belly and gossips.

I so agree with you on this! I was walking around the mall looking for some decent clothes and all of a sudden, I go to check out a store and I saw them Advertising stuff for Christmas when it wasn't even November! And right next to it was Christmas themed clothes? I was so confused lol! <3
