rewatching the fellowship of the ring - extended edition

i'm on my second rewatch of the lord of the rings, specifically the extended edition, and i realize how many scenes lose out on extra context or their impact. the narsil scene with boromir and aragorn makes less sense without their conversation before boromir picks up the broken blade. the gifts of galadriel loses its depth without sam receiving the elven-rope or gimli receiving the locks of lady galadriel's hair.

i genuinely never noticed how much more oomph these scenes have in the extended edition. it's so incredible; i really need to re-read the books soon.
