OKAOKAY so i said on my bulletins that i would mak a blog about Ena5 after i read the storyyy anddd i read it last nitee and had to take like 16 hours to processs it lamo...

OKAWYWELL here it is MY THOUGHTS ON ENA5 

card analysis + symbols

ok so obviously i have 2 start this by sayingg,,,

GAWD the cards in this set are so gorgeous..,, thisis probably one of ym favorite sets in the game neow.

LETS OFC START W// THE BEUTIFUL ENA!! Alright so first off lets point out the obvious, Ena is reaching her hand out to Mizuki ((lets take ibuprofen together)) which not only is reflective of the untrained version of this card,, but also is representitive to Ena's relationship with Mizuki,, leading her towards the light and progressing foward together.

Her braided hair also might be a callback to mfyd (or i could be reading into it too far)

And here's Mizuki's card! 

Cherry blossoms are a symbol of renewal -- a "new season",, So Mizuki and Ena standing under this cherry blossom tree together symbolizes how they're starting new together,, and also represents this new 'era' for Mizuki where she no longer has to fear being honest about her true self ^^

ALAOLAOALSO this one might be me totally reading to far but since Mizuki isnt shown reaching back towards Ena, I think this might mean Mizuki is still holding some hesitance in her heart to fully open up to her friends. The vulnerability is too much for her.

Miuzki and Ena are also both wearing matching dresses with butterfly symbolisms on them (notably the chest). Butterflies symbolize transitions and are also often used as a symbol for transgenderism.

I think that MEIKO reaching out to gently caress the blossoms is symbolising how she's facilitating Mizuki's progress. Since MEIKO is also not near Mizuki and Ena -- which shows her observing / facilitating their relationship from afar.

oh and about the outfits;

   YALLL MIZUKENA HAVE MATCHING RINGSS!!!  they're so queer coded-i dont wanna hear it from anyone

the Ena untrained honestly really does feel like a callback to Excited Picnic,,, it really shows how Mizuena have been each other's biggest supporter,, have always been there for each other even when the other refuses to ask for help.

(even at this point Ena was worried about Mizuki)

their relationship is so beautiful guys,,ueueue, i crode

++ here's the event logos for secret distance and that flower once more! This is another clear callback.

All of these refrences to past event's about Mizuki and Ena's relationship really shows how this event is the ribbon tying this story together, and that this is an end to a journey as Mizuki steps into a bright future.

THE STORYYIE!!

AND NOW 2 TLK ABT THE EVENT STORY ITSELF.!! 

We start with Ena being worried about Mizuki since she stopped interacting with Nightcord or showing up to school. She asks around but no one has heard from her, so Akito tells her to talk to An about it. Turns out Mizuki has been messaging An a bit but hasnt been showing up to school,,, the fact that Miuzki was able to talk and act cheery with An but not her own group is so sadd,, its like the closer she is or the more she values someone its harder to be around them because of the fear,,,, me too girl. 

Ena goes to Kamiyama during the day to try to find Mizuki,,, shes so worried abt her she got up early jus to try nd see her face to face ;33..,, While she's waiting she sees Rui .. Rui tells Ena some advice nd recalls his experience with how Tsukasa also helped him when he was in that dark place,, tho he doesnt ssay Tsukas name directly.,, Rui also talks abt Mizuki during middle school, and refers to her as a kindred spirit >, _,,< He also tells Ena that Mizuki thinks of Niigo as a place where she belongs which confirms to Ena that she wants her help !! wishch is so amazing aaaa..

Mizuki still hasnt shown up 2 Sekai so Kanade nd Mafuyu sense Ena's worry nd wanna help ..

i love that mafuyu has rlly grown and is being open abt how she cares for niigo,, bc everyone in niigo has rlly heloed hersm nd theyre important 2her :3

Mafuyu finds out Mizuki has supplementary classes nd puts together that Mizuki hs likely been attending since she asses her as the kind of person who wouldnt wanna burden others by lagging behind which is...,, woaw Mafuyu psychoanalytical much? But fr her ability to analyze ppl is so interesting nd aolso makes sesne for her.

this just rlly speaks volumess,,, Ena knows Mizuki SO WELL andcares abt her sm to be so attentive leik this,

Mizuki attempts to run away again,, this time literally. Meiko interferes once again and warns Mizuki that she migt not be able to turn back after this,, and Mizuki, feeling conflicted, freezes.

the phrasing here aswell i think is so interesting,,, tho it is just a rough translatiton. Ena also tells Mizuki that she doesnt want to be apart from her,,, just the fact that Ena cant STAND the thought og being away from Mizu is SOOOOUUUU ARRHGH... "Even if that kindness is something you find hard to accept, i cant stop wanting to protect you, that feeling will never change." EUEUEUEU OGGMG ENA .. this might be one of my favorite lines evur guys. I need someone to love me the way Ena loves Mizuki.. Jus the way she accepts her inability to receive gentleness yet still wants to hold her close in her heart and keep her safe,,, oh my DAYS GUYS i may go crazey.. Ena tells Mizuki she doesn't want to be apart from her no matter if she will be judged or not,, her love for Mizu is so selfless .

OH MY DFAYSSSSS SHES JUSSTT LIKE ME FRRRFRFR... the feeling of crushing weight, inability to be satisfied even when others are being kind to you aeughhh,, Miuzuki would rater push her friends away than face rejection,,, she jus like me its insane (and probably you too points at you accusingly)

anyways. What Enasays here rlly just feels like a love confession to me,,,, she tells Mizuki shes' thought about her ""so much"" nd that her feelings for her havent changed,,

Mizuki JUST LIKE ME frrr why is this actually lowkey me and my exkms but the fact that Ena will just persist and do anythn to keep Mizukiin her life,, grahhh I need an Ena so badly. Mizuki is abtle to accept Ena's kndnss by the end,nd not run away . 

i honestly did like the story for this event,, howevur ,, there is one thing that has been bothering me. 

Colopale has continued to dance around the subject of Mizuki's gender, yet agsin. EVEN tho I really had faith they would this time,, sighs,. I wish I could just rely on the fandom to pick up symbolism where its put doen but sadyl lots of ppls r rlly dumb and will always find a way to see things their eay no matr what. I've seen othur people upset about this nd it rlly duz just scream corporate greed that Colorful Palette would just add a trans character to their game and make their whole story arc abour their gender nd then go and keep their gender "ambiguous" and dance around any terms that mak it "real reputation". It's like theu jus wanna market off of pleasing us but then still kiss up the asses of the homophobic market so they can keep their money.

But well,p all and all those rrr all my thoughts on the event this was kidna really long and prolly too in detail but what can i sau ime a little bit tismic.., uhm well if you did hapern to read tis and make it this far as wlell congrats and tysm for reading my essay on a stupid vsuasl novel from miku tapping gme!! yippie!!!
