SOS signal attempt #1
I am sending this signal via the interplanetary Troxepus United™ space radio. If anyone is listening, you left us behind: from your hostile mutations roaming free around the facility, to your half brained androids predicting my every move. Fortunately for me, I have been rebuilt and molded into an unused war weapon, or at least what you expected me to be. Whether it's for the better or for the worse, that isn't my current interest. Most of you had worked here previously before the beginning of the end, and your escape must have been planned years prior. I must say, you managed to cover up this whole scheme quite well, a bit too well. You left for that other precious planet of yours for the rest of us to rot or disintegrate into dark matter.
I just got ahold of this whole radio system, it had been difficult for the past few weeks. I cannot tell you how many close encounters I experienced with the hostilities and rogue machinery: they are insentient, or brain dead, the AI left to its own unpredictable intentions. Access to this system had been frustratingly difficult due to the easily triggered laboratory alarms. Different AIs possess differing skill from one another, and to my misfortune it happens that stealth isn't one of the ones that comes along with my design. It had taken me over 8 days to lead them away using the dead corpses in the freezer room, which wasn't too difficult to locate thankfully. And this of course, bought me a couple hours to try to log onto any of the computers in the intercom room, west wing section B.
Since the great explosion, I had assumed most systems would have been shut down or have some sort countdown to. But to my surprise a computer in of the many intercom rooms, hadn't been logged off at all; the cursor was hovering over a window with an empty search bar and a presentation app running in the background. Perhaps if there were a way to download this data I would have access to the facility's controls and make my way to the surface. However, you may not know but this isn't a simple matter of there being just one main control system embedded in a program or two, it's never an easy solution, they don't want it to be that way. But instead, you are met with 10 different computers which have given system embedded, 5 different physical controls that are near impossible to break through or access without the correct code, and finally, 2 emergency exits which are obstructed by _____?
On the contrary, it's quite fortunate that I'll only need to breach 2 programs and 2 control rooms to be able to feel the presence of the stars amongst the dark void.
Our universe is just an endless pit of dark matter, others lose themselves in it and brim with curiosity or simply fear it. Quite one sided at that. But I'm telling you, whoever this listener may be, let me tell you, this void contains wonderous things that even our scientists can't comprehend. Not all of them may be pretty, but if you want to just be then you have existence itself to thank and dark matter. Kind of like the human mind: not all the outcomes are great, but it contains infinite possibilities, an empty space for millions of differing thoughts. Ah---- I must've rambled on again? This tends to happen when I'm alone for extended periods of time.. I think..
The programs I must breach are connected to each other. They shouldn't ideally be too hard to find. They are located in the west wing and north wing of the facility. Remember, this is no empty facility with some protection systems completely offline, like the large amount of the doors used to contain the more aggressive entities and androids. Passive creatures hidden within the laboratory are scarce and the bad outnumber the good. As you may know, especially if this SOS signal/broadcast targets them, my design possesses outstanding strength and potential yet I am too weak to my own species, I am only one amongst thousands of failed and successful experiments. Fortunate from one perspective, and just another imperfection from another. Therefore, I have come to the most efficient and quickest plan, for now at least: I shall see what detachable parts there are or any protection I can equip. Trust me when I tell you this, if an average human could be slaughtered in seconds, then I can be in less than ten. I was supposed to be a war machine, I could probably disassemble and dismember others in mere seconds as well, but my vessel, this strange prototype is advanced but it has its limits.
I hope someone is listening, someone who is getting this signal. I will find different ways of reaching out to Equinoxar, whether it's messages, morse code, blogs, anything; even if it destroys me along the way. I just need to hear her voice one more time. I need to at least know if she's alive.
I repeat again from Troxepus United™ Main laboratory, location: what remains of our planet.
You can call me Kt-x, whether I still exist by the time I escape this facility or successfully get a signal across to Equinoxar it doesn't matter. If it's just going to be me alone who chooses freedom and a second chance at life, then it will just be me.
We are all bounded and tied by the stars in one universe, that shine brighter than we ever will.
Thank you, whether you're a friend or foe, at least someone could listen to me.
