Y'all.. when I tell you life couldn't have gotten worse, it somehow just fucking did cause NO way they just changed the colour scheme, cleaned up the ORIGINAL art style, did minor changes to the plot to accommodate to the "shoujo" anime norm, and add unecesary scenes.
THIS CAN NOT BE REAL.. THEY EVEN CHANGED THE ICONIC OPENING THEME SONG TOO, WHERE IS MY "ya pa pay ya pa pay ishante >_<" ??? IM HEART BROKEN, this shit was my childhood anime so you could only imagine how much despair I felt watching this adaptation.
(More like being forced to watch it due to my friends)
Anywho, I only gotup to the episode where Ranma and Ryoga battle ONLY due to the fact that I couldn't bare with how much they changed the fighting scene (this knowledge is according to a friend so if I'm wrong.. PLEASE educate me), apparently Ryoga was useless the entire fight and didn;t bother to hit Ranma once..? Even though they're actually considered equals in said fight and go across the whole BUMASS town to fight. The only thing I know they kept was Akane's hair getting cut off (which makes sense considering it was a more dramatic scene in the episode and should be kept since it was sort of a plot device for her character development). Other than that though, this shit was NOT absolute cinema I fear..
For anyone willing to watch the original anime vs the Netflix adaptaton, or simply wanting to compare the two so I could yap even MORE about this atrocity of a remake.

ALSO ANOTHER WEIRD THING THAT WAS ADDED WAS THE UNECESSARY COMIC LIKE VIBE, LIKE WHY DO THEY HAVE THE BUMASS EMOTICONS AND THE CHARACTERS EXPRESSONS ARE SORT OF DEVOID OF ANY FORM OF SILLY EXPRESSION. THEY ALL LOOK ROBOTIC SORTA. THE UNECESSARY FLASHY COLOURS TOO DOESNT MAKE SENSE, BECAUSE WHY IS EVERYTHING SO VIBRANT AND WHERE DID THIS COME FROM? "Let's get creative!" How about let's STOP <3 !!

Maybe I just don't get the hype or the adaptation isn't that bad and I'm extremely bias, however I just don't get why everything has to be so flashy and colour blinding cause why does Ryoga look more like Kinich from fucking Genshin than Ryoga? This looks like one of those shitty deviantart fanarts you'd find where they'd draw characters in that ugly "Pop Art" style.
So.. TLDR: This shit's so ASS!

Girl the new adaption is literally amazing. The old one portrayed akane SO wrong, they messed up rankane relationship and changed so many romantic manga scenes to make akane the bad guy. They just generally had a problem with akane for NO reason.
Even in the intro, ranma was running away from Akane as though she was just one of the clowns, while in the remake ranma and akane run TOGETHER. And since u Wana complain about the color pallets, the original anime literally completely changed akanes.. She was a brunette with amber eyes in the manga. They also failed to show her in any of her iconic outfits from the manga, she was almost ALWAYS wearing that blue dress
In conclusion, the remake is MUCH better and is MUCH more canon, it doesn't waste ur time with filler episodes, and ACTUALLY shows the development in rankanes relationship AS IT SHOULD BE. it was NEVER that slow in the manga. The original anime didn't even finish the story. And of course, the worst part, they almost ruined akanes character completely. I still watched it cause I love Ranma½ but it really was a horrible adaptation.
Also, it annoyed me that female ranmas hair was the same color as the shirt. It was just too much red. That's literally all they changed, no offense but ur extremely biased. I can understand it tho cause that's just what u grew up with. Rarely do the original viewers of ANY remake appreciate it.

Gave you a whole month to have self reflection btw! Anyways you're wrong and I won't elaborate why since clearly your reading comprehension sucks if you read the manga AND watched the anime yet still don't understand the whole reason for Ranma's fighting or Akane's supposed "getting in the way". So instead of comprehending the OVA why don't you comprehend this RATIOOO
