Performance Art

Yoooo you can blog from mobile? Sick! I can spout nonsense from pretty much anywhere now >=]

I should probably see if I can thrift some new sneakers soon. If you put an author in front of me, they would describe my shoes as “ratty, beat-up sneakers”. It’s annoyingly difficult to find the specific shoes I’m looking for, though. My favourite shoes to wear are red Converse high tops, but for some reason you can never find any on thrift websites. 10th Doctor bought them all, or something.

Okay, I’m at work, which means I should probably not be blogging right now, but there’s just nobody here. Where did all the people go? Probably visiting their families for the holidays. Now, that’s not to say I want a bunch of people to start showing up; I’m perfectly fine doing minimal work all shift, especially since I just realised I forgot to put on my knee braces today.

If I’m honest, I really miss being a scare actor. Sure, the pay was shit, and I had to drive pretty far, and you couldn’t really take your break anywhere without having some form of smoke-based substance blown in your face, but I miss having an excuse to do up my makeup all scary and do silly voices. I used to be a chaser, so I would get to chase people out of my room. They didn’t always run, but I did manage to scare like 85% of them. Now the only time I get to do really gory makeup is for… pretty much nothing. It’s practically my family trade, but there’s not really a market for it outside of film and Halloween. Maybe I should just go into the practical effects industry right now. It’d certainly be fun.

Now that I think about it, there are so many performance things I like to do. Theatrical acting, film acting, singing (of many kinds), practical effects, set design, costume makeup, creature design, creature acting, improv, live performance (music gigs), costume design, modeling, animatronic design and programming, you name it, I probably do it. I’m even looking into starting fire performance, just cuz it seems really fun. I mean, a gig where I can wear heavy pants and sleeveless shirts and manipulate fire while cool music plays? Sign me up.

Okay, I’ve finally got customers. I’ll probably update my blog again when I get home. If I don’t, then I gave up and went back to watching Supernatural.
