"See you tomorrow, then!" I say with a wave
A useless smile that fades to bitter loneliness...
Taking the pedestrian bridge, a bicycle passes me by
Idle housewives stop by the store to spread mindless gossip
Crossing by the intersection, distant cars beep loud as ever
Sounds of laughter echo from strangers chatting hand in hand
So once again, I walk by my lonesome
On the familiar road to home
But for some reason I cannot explain
Something in my heart makes me feel smaller than ever
"See you tomorrow, then!" I say with a wave
A plastic smile that fades to bitter loneliness
My hands clench helplessly, wishing to talk to you some more
"See you tomorrow, then!" I can't help saying
Even though the lie burns, I wave to you once more
And with my usual smile, I turn to you and say "See you again."
I wave off concerns of being alone,
Saying that I'm used to the pain
But when you turn, I shed a tear
For I'm not quite that strong
Passing the same scenery day by day,
Walking across the same old town
Even though nothing is supposed to change
Deep within my heart, somehow I'm smaller than ever
"See you tomorrow, then!" No, I shouldn't lie
It'd be nice to say "Stay with me for just a while"
Even I can tell myself I look forward to the day
"See you tomorrow, then!" When I hear those words
I lie to myself that they ever could come true
And with my usual smile, I turn to you and hide my true feelings
"See you tomorrow, then!" I say with a wave
A simple smile that fades to bitter loneliness
My hands clench helplessly, wishing to talk to you some more
"See you tomorrow, then!" Even in my voice
The words are so close, yet they cannot reach your ears
And as I always have, I turn to you and say
"'Til tomorrow, see you again."
