I’m going to draw a picture
Of a fair maid sweet and nice
I wonder if you’ve met her
Or if her you’ll recognize
She's slightly above medium height
Brown hair and queenly poise
With just a hint of roguish light
In the sparkle of her eyes
To attempt to describe her beauty
That would prove a waste of time
So I'll leave that pleasant duty
To some abler pen than mine
She has a bright sweet sunny nature
And a form of girlish grace
Beauty stamped on every feature
Of her sweet young face
She is jolly bright and witty
Full of fun and playfulness
Yet her heart o'erflows with pity
For those in sorrow or distress
If her confidence she gives to you
On her you can depend
You'll always find her good and true
A staunch and loyal friend
Her kindly acts her goodness prove
To know her is a pleasure
And the man who wins her loyal love
Will gain a priceless treasure
For the better that you know her
The deeper still she grows
As the channel still grows deeper
Where the current swiftest flows
