Advice for new emo kids

(i might fuck up cuz im stupid so correct me if i get something wrong!! <3)

ABOUT

The emo subculture is a music scene that originated in the 1980s and 1990s gaining popularity in the mid 2000s. 

MUSIC

I'm just gonna list a few genres that are considered emo and then give off my opinion about a few bands/genres (you can see where thats going) 

- Post-hardcore

- Post-midwest emo

- Midwest emo

- Midwest emocore

- Emocore

- Screamo

- Emo-pop

In my opinion bands like My Chemical Romance (Maybe their first album is?..idk), Fall Out Boy, Paramore, Panic! At The Disco, etc aren't emo but they are still good ass bands and you can totally continue listening to them.

FASHION

(Btw you don't have to dress the part to be emo because its a music subculture so dw about that)

"Fast fashion is bad for the environment as it makes use of toxic synthetic fabrics, relies on cheap labor, mitigates the importance of mindful manufacturing, encourages discarded clothing, and is contingent on inexpensive, accelerated production." 

(plus half the shit thats overpriced you can make yourself for cheaper)

Emo fashion includes: 

- Skinny jeans

- Studded belts 

- Homemade bracelets (and studded bracelets)

- Converse, vans, etc 

- Band t shirts

- And the haircut that is impossible to see with 😭

don't be bothered by anyone who's hating their life away. You look and are awesome in general and continue expressing yourself the way you want and do what makes you comfortable!!
