Today in music class we had a substitute teacher. I knew her from before because she had substituted our music teacher before. She was teaching us about Nordic Folk music and we played a little folk song at the end of our class. She had brought her violin that she hadn't played for a long time. Then she said something that really moved me.
(these are not the exact words since I don't remember exactly what she said, but you get the idea)
She said even though she doesn't always know what to play in music or do in life she thinks that the most important thing is to throw oneself into new exciting situations. You can't ever know if you can do something if you never try. She said that if you just think you can't do something then in the long run you actually start to help that thought into reality.
I don't think how she realised how much the words she said inspired me. I have started to feed the idea that I will never get into the dream musical theater school just because I think I can't do it. I have to change my mindset now. I can do it, I will do it. I will do all the work needed for me to get a place in that school.
