On the subject of ascension

How could anyone really believe Aegon is the rightful heir? Aside from the fact that his only qualifying trait is that he is male (this is such a pedestrian point to use to refute Rhaenyra's claim, like really? She can't sit the throne because she's a woman? That's your excuse?) he is completely unfit to rule, and did not even want the crown during the moments after Vizzy's death. 

Rhaenyra, meanwhile, has known the iron throne would be hers her entire life, and has trained to be a monarch (albeit in peacetime). She was officially acknowledged in court, is the firstborn to Vizzy, and has heirs (irrespective of their parentage). How could anyone feel Aegon would be more worthy that Rhaenyra? It just doesn't make sense.
