i understand the notion of "oh but there's no such thing as an ugly person it's what's on the inside that matters" cause it's true, your personality is a lot more valuable than your looks on a 1:1 logical basis, but in society, being visually appealing (which is what beauty is) in the way others want is prioritized.
a thin person could 100% post a video of a mukbang and get told they're cute when they eat, but a fat person would post the exact same video and get told their promoting obesity and that they should lose weight.
they always try and frame it as a concern for ones health as if being thin can't impact one's health either. all of this fucking thin = healthy bullshit is because of diet culture and i could fucking...yap..about diet culture for hours and how it's bullshit.
like, every single time someone says that thin people don't have "thin privilege" i just sigh and ask if they've ever been told (or have seen someone get told) they're promoting anorexia or promoting being unhealthy just by existing as a thin person. cause no goddamn thin person, unless "obviously anorexic" (i hate that 'anorexic' is a weight class.), gets told that.
yes, i know that thin people get told to eat a burger and maybe they get teased and told they're a bag of bones (cause anyone can be bullied and can be insecure), yet it's not the same as fat people being told their existence is bad and being literally dehumanized!
the fact people would rather die than be fat says a lot about how we exist as people. people genuinely would rather starve themselves and refuse to have "unhealthy food/junk food" than just have that doughnut sometimes and go about their day like a normal fucking person.
orthorexia is very fucking normalized i fear, and it's mainly because it's NEVER talked about. no one talks about how, no, it's NOT normal to obsess over your health and if you're eating "right" 24 fucking 7.
