The Demolition Lovers

Through broken streets, their shadows ran,

Kindred souls with bloodied hands.

Their hearts beat loud, in sync, in strife,

A love born fierce in the throes of life.

The world condemned them, the fire raged,

Yet in each other, their war was caged.

One whispered, "Hold on, don’t let me fall,"

Through chaos and gunfire, they risked it all.

No heaven would have them, no rest in sight,

Only the comfort of shared twilight.

Together they vowed, in the still of night,

To burn as one in their final fight.

"Let the world shatter," one softly said,

"As long as you're near, I'll fear no death."

The other smiled, though his breath grew thin,

For love was his armor, his greatest sin.

In the hail of bullets, their bodies fell,

A love too wild for this fragile shell.

And though they perished their story stays,

The demolition lovers who defied the blaze.

Their spirits linger, their fire untamed,

Two souls immortal in love's fierce flame...🥀~
