I've signed up to uni for a bachelors in music tech but I also really want to do marine biology or oceanography, like it's a second dream. I love music tech and cannot change courses now, but they don't give student loans after your first degree, and I can't afford a second degree, I'd also have to do two further science qualifications. Is it worth giving up on my hopes and dreams because of money??
also what do y'all wanna do / what have y'all done at the end of your education

Hi ! Have you considered maybe having one of your choices as a minor ? It'll be extra classes but if it's something that in the end you dont end up liking or see that whatever you're majoring gives you more financial stability, then you can just have the minor on your degree but if it's something that you really are interested in and go towards your minor route, then you can go back and get your masters to get a full degree on it. Also, idk if it's different where you live but you can appeal some scholarships and loans with your school. I have to stay an extra year b/c I changed majors at the start and my scholarship is only 4 years, I went to the Office of Financial aid at my school and they told me about appeal forms. It's not at all dumb to go back for another degree!! I'm getting my second degree right now because I realized I didn't actually like the line of work my first degree got me into. In my situation, I did work for almost 2 years straight after getting my first degree, and if I didn't have the funds I wouldn't be going back. So I totally understand the fear of having to drop the dream because of financial reasons, but it's never too late to go back or change ur mind at any point

my brother got a construction degree and decided he hated it, went back for welding, hated it. Now hes looking at culinary school. There is nothing wrong with going back for a second or even third degree :3
I personally am just a geologist but I do plan to get a GIS certificate in the future

My bachlors is in geology I'm going for masters now, but a GIS certificate is very useful as a geologist
