TEC16, ep7: SKILLS (pt1 - music)

i feel like at 16, ive wasted quite a lot of my teenage years not honing my guitar skills

and now, in retrospect, i regret sitting around during the pandemic at 12 doing nothing and just playing minecraft during classes when i couldve been keeping myself busy practicing and improving lol

its just like when i got my first glasses - i was 11 and very excited to wear them all the time (for some fuckin reason idk) instead of wearing em only during lessons

ive had my music phases - basic radio pop, older (ala abba or... grease soundtrack??), then i got really into classical music which, even if it seems kinda silly rn, i dont regret bc i learned most of my music theory knowledge bc of it

and right now ive done a 180 down a route nearly every teen stumbles onto - alt/punk/rock music 

the absolutely addictive riffs and heart stabbing lyrics of my chemical romance, the vocal runs of patrick stump, the electrifying melodies and acoustic guitar of pierce the veil, the gothic beauty of evanescence, the beats and screams of linkin park, the BANGERS of taking back sunday, escape the fate, sleeping with sirens, good charlotte, dance gavin dance, flyleaf etc 

those are just a few bands i listen to and they make me so inspired to learn music and maybe, just maybe, be good enough someday to perform at local events or coffee shops, meet cool people and stuff

i also wanna write my own stuff

i wanna write lyrics that i truly believe in, melodies, drum and bass lines that id be proud of, if not for the public, then only for myself

lol dramatic but thats really it
