so i have this blanket that i've had since i was two. sometimes i rub the blanket against my hair when its really dry, and it makes a static spark. it's kinda cool.
the cool thing is that, (little tangent explaination here but anyways) before it rains, because of electrical activity or lightning, ozone can be created because of oxygen and nitrogen splitting up in the atmosphere, and reacting with other atmospheric chemicals. it's part of that before rain smell.
anyways, because of the static electricity, if i "spark" my hair a bunch of times in a row, like a bunch of times for multiple minutes, sometimes it'll do the exact same thing that happens with the ozone smell in the before rain smell. i can create ozone. i can describe the smell from memory, because it releases a very strong smell, even in extremely small amounts, which is the amount that's created by this action.
don't worry about making a dangerous amount, it's hard to do it, and it creates very little. i've been doing this for around a decade (since i was like 3-4?).
you should try it. it kinda shows that chemistry can't only be done in a lab. go do it, right know. i dare you. your hair has to be dry and some blankets don't do it well, so you might have to try a couple of diferents ones. but it's really fun.
another fun thing to do with the sparking blanket is to turn off the lights in your room, and start sparking. it looks really cool to watch the sparks be created.
tl/dr: i can make fucking ozone with my hair and a blanket :)))
