"Wait! Listen to me!" The giant, ebon skinned man rumbled out beneath the inhuman screams and collapsing buildings, "If you want to live through all of this - listen to me, damn it! You need me!"
The far- too- experienced- with- this- bullshit man finally stopped and turned, dutifully ready to continue on his way and get shit done. "Whadya mean, 'you need me?' Whadya - "
"Listen carefully, marine: this has nothing to do with your skills and abilities to fight and survive, so check that ego," the giant mans' custom to his specifications military armour glistened alive with each dancing flame, every explosion that shook the earth, and he popped off a quick shot of his plasma rifle, the bright, soothing blue energy devouring a floating, grotesque head behind him. All teeth, claws and unholy screeches collapsed to the broken ground in a rancid heap, and the sanguine sky above showed the giant man to be far more menacing than he already was. "Some on the human side want you dead. They believe that the sooner this is all over, the sooner they can extinguish you and act like none of this ever happened."
The younger marine rolled his eyes, "Oh. I know. UAC."
"Precisely. Which is why you need me. You're important and they can't touch me."
The massive, dark skinned senior marine slid a white toothed grin. It was an alarmingly genuine and unusual smile. Maybe it was all the death, destruction, and these hellish half automatons... Demons? Monsters?
The young marine surveyed the catastrophe around him. The invasion had reached Earth before he could ever stop it, and still gargantuan, horned, half mechanical demonic creatures, some just as large, mechanical spiders like something out of an 1980's nightmare, commanded nearly all current life on this planet. Less and less of it was human. Not much of a reason to smile these days but out of madness, and this was all clearly insane.
The young marine decided to match the persistent mans grin, "Alright. Let's say I do in fact need you: What makes you s'goddamned special?"
The giant man was instantly less than inches away from his HUD visor, the same grin cracking his unreasonably aged and battle ridden face, "I am UAC."
