Last year, me and my mother stumbled upon this weird Christmas ambience video while looking for holiday baking shows. We watched it again this year for a laugh due to its absurdity.
It's called "Gingerbread Home Remodel", but it's not what it sounds like. The video simply features a gingerbread house on a table next to a bowl of juice/punch, all while Christmas music plays in the other room, with people talking in the distance. Almost like it's a hidden camera, but it still feels staged.
Throughout the video, family members come in and break off large chunks of the gingerbread house. But not like..."oh, I'd love a little nibble of this jolly gingerbread house", more like "THIS GINGERBREAD ESTATE SHALL CRUMBLE BY MY HAND", THEY TEAR IT UP!!! One lady comes in and breaks the smaller gingerbread house in HALF.
Silly things happen throughout the video, a dog gets on the table, a little girl breaks off a large chunk of the gingerbread house and holds it up roaring like King Kong, etc.
But the weird thing is...there was little to no information about the video and it's origins.
No credits sequence, no listed director, no reviews, nothing. All I know about "Gingerbread Home Remodel" is that you can watch it on Hulu, it's about an hour long, and it came out on December 16th, 2016.
Has anybody seen this video? Does anybody have any information about its origins?
If so, let me know. Because I feel like me and my mom are the only people who've seen this thing.
