First snow of the season. Snow only lasted for a few minutes but... you know I had to celebrate.
Hot Chocolate!!! Made everything by scratch because Swiss Miss Instant Piss just doesn't cut it for me anymore. Walking back to the car was, while painful as snow was pelting my face and coat, fucking awesome. I love snow. I even love shoveling my driveway and car when it gets snowy, because I generally love snow and the cold. Not a big fan when it's not snowing and everything becomes gross and mushy and you step in it and your whole foot's wet but... YOU GET THE IDEA! Winter is my favorite season, so I prepared a little taste of what's to come to celebrate a taste of what's to come.
Funny story, I had to go to FOUR different stores to get everything for this. IN ORDER...
- Had to get halal mini marshmallows from the only place that sold halal mini marshmallows. I generally don't care too much about stuff being halal as a muslim but the rest of the family does so you know how it goes.
- Had to get milk, granulated sugar and chocolate chips from Aldi's!! I would've gotten them elsewhere but Aldi's has pretty good deals, even if for some fucking reason they don't carry whipped cream that wasn't pumpkin spice... eugh. Speaking of which...
- Had to get whipped cream from my regular grocery store! Also got sprinkles and a bag of doritos cause I wanted it to look nice/was hungry.
So, I come home. For context, I called my siblings and asked if we had cocoa powder at home. They said that we did. So TELL ME WHY DO I COME HOME AND OPEN THE PANTRY TO FIND NO GODDAMN COCOA POWDER!!! So. I go to a store that's super close to where I live and finally, finally get all the ingredients I need for hot chocolate. I must say, despite all the commotion of going from store to store, that first sip of my own money, sweat and tire pressure was a much deserved reprieve.
That's all I got for today's blogpost. I'll keep y'all updated on my cooking adventures more often.
